OnlyCans: Thirst Date -- Accessories: Lace

OnlyCans: Thirst Date is an erotic comedy horror can-dating rhythm game. The original game was made in a week and a half, with the Hot and Steamy DLC and a graphical upgrade happening over the month following release. All but 2 models were made specifically for the game. I was the modeler and texture artist for the project.

The lace in the game had to be designed around the blur-effect for the background not cooperating with translucent materials. The garter was made for the base-game with the Wedding Veil and Neck Ruff being adaptations on the lessons learned from working on the garter. All lace was hand-painted for the textures.

Screenshots are from in-game, renders from Substance Painter.

The material for the garter was made to be able to be color-changed by in-engine as needed without having to re-import color changes.

The base-game was made in a week and a half, so more versatile assets were favored over specialized pieces. The 'skirt' for the maid was a recoloring of the original material and model of the garter.

Most models were done with consideration to hide any potential clipping as the animations were procedural, and not all props were implemented by myself originally and were not consistently placed flush to the can models.

Props needed to be reasonable from all angles, so in cases like this additional details were placed in to minimize visual deadspace.
